What is Search Engine Optimization? SEO is short for Search Engine Optimization. Simply put, your website is analyzed using a proprietary software or method looking for areas that need improvement in order to please the search engine gods. Every search engine looks at different factors like Content, Title, Meta description H tags to determine relevancy to a given search query. After the search engine spiders determine what your relevant content may be, your page or site will be given ranking or Position.SEO may also be used to capture opportunities you never knew existed. SEO benefits your web presence for organic search results, organic are the search results that appear on search engines without having to pay every time someone clicks through to your web site or your domain being listed. SEO may also benefit your website if you are running a PPC campaign, the more relevant your site to a given query usually lowers your bid price for a given key word or phrase. SEM is short for Search Engine Marketing. Search Engine Marketing comes in many styles and concepts. The most popular of these concepts seems to be search engine advertisement. Banner Ads, Pop Up Ads, and  Pay Per Click Advertising would be some of the most cost effective approaches to driving highly targeted customers to your web site. Pay Per Click ads are most often seen on the right side of most popular search engines. PPC Advertising can be a cost effective solution to increasing your companies web presence, or Branding a new Product or Service. One of the largest advantages to PPC  Advertising is the ability to position your Domain as high as you want, relative to the search query used. One advantage of PPC advertising has over SEO is the ability to reach high page position on search engines without  having to apply the time factor. As long as your content is more relative to the search query and your bid is higher than your competitions, you should be able to reach a high page positon with PPC advertising.
